Luis Arreguin

Luis was born in a small town located in Colima, Mexico and came to the States at the age of 5 years old.  He has been living in Grand Prairie, Texas since 2001. He is the second youngest of five children and the first to receive a college degree. “As newly graduate of the Art Institute of Dallas, I have many dreams which I’m working hard to turn into reality” Luis points out.

An accomplishment that he holds dear to his heart and feels the most proud of is working two jobs (over 50 hours a week) and financially putting himself through college. He describes his fashion aesthetics as visually expressive with texture, color and movement. He gravitates on escaping into the natural word, past century oil paintings, and science; “that’s where I normally get inspired” he said. He held two internships while attending college, Waitressville and The Apparel Group, the latter being a menswear company he still continues to attend.

Donna Sapp, the Academic Director in Fashion Design at The Art Institute said “Luis is one of those quiet powerhouses. He diligently goes about his work, quietly creating his patterns and sewing up his designs and when he is finished –Wow—sophisticated yet edgy, and beautiful”.

“Style is not what you wear but how you carry yourself; carry your best style” Luis Arreguin
